We are a top 40 Canadian research hospital that is fully affiliated with the University of Toronto, and we serve over 8,500 families annually.
**Description**
The Research Associate reports to the Principal Investigator in a senior research role providing leadership on research projects, academic output, and maintenance of lab equipment.
**Key Responsibilities**
Conduct research under the direction of the Principal Investigator within the Research Institute
Carry out a research project within the CONNECT Lab including recruitment, scheduling, data collection, ethics updates, and lab software/hardware maintenance
Use specialized expertise or knowledge in speech neuroscience, neuroimaging, and neuromodulation to contribute to a team project
Perform advanced, highly proficient scientific work such as planning and conducting a series of experiments, collating data collected, evaluating results, preparing and presenting findings to the team,



and preparing peer reviewed manuscripts and grant proposals
Provide direction within the CONNECT lab on technical matters and remain current on speech neuroscience research, neuroimaging, and neuromodulation approaches
**Minimum Knowledge, Skills & Abilities**
Masters or PhD degree in neuroscience, speech-language pathology, medical sciences, cognitive psychology or related field
Knowledge and experience with speech motor experimentation, neuromodulation and/or neuroimaging techniques
Knowledge and experience with data collection, analysis, visualization and interpretation
Knowledge and experience with programming languages and statistical analysis software (e.g., Python, R, Matlab)
Record of contribution to scientific, peer-reviewed publications
Excellent English writing and communication skills
