**Job Title: Heavy Duty Mechanic**
**Job Description**
This role focuses on maintaining and repairing a wide range of airport Ground Support Equipment both in the maintenance facility and airside.

The Heavy Duty Mechanic performs inspections, diagnostics, repairs, and preventative maintenance on equipment such as luggage carts, wide loaders, aircraft tow vehicles, catering carts, and trucks.

The position requires strong mechanical and hydraulic skills, attention to safety, and the ability to document all work using SAP software on a tablet.
**Responsibilities**
Perform routine inspections, diagnostics, and repairs on various types of airport Ground Support Equipment, including luggage carts, wide loaders, aircraft tow vehicles, catering carts, and trucks.

Carry out preventative maintenance and safety checks to ensure all equipment operates reliably and in compliance with standards.

Respond to equipment breakdowns both in the facility and airside, troubleshooting issues efficiently to minimize downtime.

Service and repair hydraulic components, including troubleshooting hydraulic systems and performing necessary adjustments or part replacements.

Conduct general vehicle maintenance such as brakes, engines, drivetrains, and other mechanical systems as required.

Use SAP software on a tablet to document all maintenance and repair activities accurately and in a timely manner.

Follow established safety procedures and guidelines while working in the shop and airside environments.

Collaborate with other technicians and team members to prioritize work orders and support overall shop productivity.

Maintain and use personal basic hand tools safely and effectively to complete daily tasks.

Support a clean, organized, and productive work area in both the facility and airside locations.
**Essential Skills**
Journeyman Heavy Duty Mechanic qualification or equivalent experience in heavy-duty mechanical repair.
3+ years of experience as a diesel mechanic or ground support equipment technician.

Hands-on experience performing preventative maintenance and safety checks on vehicles or equipment.

Proven hydraulic experience, including servicing and troubleshooting hydraulic components and systems.

Strong troubleshooting skills for diesel engines and related mechanical systems.

Ability to use SAP or similar maintenance software on a tablet to document work orders and service history.

Computer literacy sufficient to navigate maintenance software and digital documentation tools.

Ability to obtain a Restricted Area Identity Card (RAIC) for work in secure airport areas.

Ownership and effective use of basic hand tools required for daily mechanical work.

**Work Environment**
The standard shift runs Monday to Friday from 6:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., with opportunities for overtime, and shift details may change based on operational needs.

Work is performed using SAP software on tablets for documentation, along with standard heavy-duty mechanical tools and equipment.

The setting includes typical shop conditions and airside exposure, requiring adherence to safety procedures and appropriate work attire suitable for a mechanical shop and airport operations.

This is a Permanent position based out of Calgary, AB.
**Pay and Benefits**
The pay range for this position is $72800.00 - $87360.00/yr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
