**Position:**
The manager of quality and performance is a critical enabler of innovation and improvement that promotes integration of quality and LEAN process improvement methodologies to support organizational strategic projects and objectives.

This role will provide both direct and indirect support to various projects and initiatives to advance quality improvement and data analysis/utilization across the organization.

You will build capacity and provide coaching for staff on key strategic projects under our ‘care that's agile' pillar to support the hospital's journey to becoming a learning health system.
**Core Functions**
**Strategic Priorities:** Provide leadership and oversight for the implementation of program goals and objectives including the annual quality improvement plan (QIP) and certain Caring Safely objectives
**Accreditation:** In partnership with the Director QSP,



actively oversees accreditation and the improvement initiatives arising from the cyclical assessment in the Quality, Safety and Performance department to prepare the organization for Accreditation Canada surveys
**Quality/Process Improvement Coaching:** Offer expert advice, consultation, and coaching to key project resources on quality improvement principles, tools, and techniques using the following tools - Value Stream Mapping, Cycle Time/Takt Time, Kaizen Events, Measurement/Metrics, etc.
**Data Analysis and Insights** : Utilize health care data analytics tools and techniques to analyze clinical, operational, client and family sociodemographic data and experience data, identify trends, patterns, and areas for improvement, and generate actionable insights to drive quality improvement initiatives and reduce safety disparities.
**Promote Data-Driven Decision Making:** Emphasize the importance of data collection, analysis, and interpretation in identifying areas for improvement and monitoring progress towards quality goals.

Oversight of the corporate Balanced Scorecard.
**Promote Agile Mindset** : Promote an agile mindset and culture within the organization, emphasizing values such as collaboration, transparency, adaptability, and customer focus, and fostering a spirit of innovation and experimentation.
**Collaborate with Stakeholders** : Collaborate with leaders, managers, clinicians, and other stakeholders to assess training needs, develop educational materials, and support the integration of quality improvement initiatives into organizational processes.

The role will also model co-design with staff, clients and families in quality improvement initiatives.
**Quality Improvement Strategy:** Collaborate with leadership to develop and implement a comprehensive quality improvement strategy aligned with the organization's goals and priorities, leveraging principles of learning health systems.
**Qualifications**
Master's degree in health care or a related field is required
Certification in quality improvement such as Lean, Six Sigma, CQuIPS or IDEAS is required
5-7 years leading quality/process/performance improvement in a hospital setting
Experience with leading Accreditation




Experience with direct reports is an asset
Advanced statistical knowledge, certification in statistical process control is an asset
Highly developed skills in creation of dashboards, knowledge of PowerBI or related software
Experience in managing and evaluating quality and performance programs
Strong leadership abilities (independent and collaborative)
Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills (oral and written) tailored to various audiences (e.g., leadership, governance)
Demonstrated ability to facilitate teamwork, collaboration, and partnership
Understanding and knowledge of the Ontario health system and landscape, including knowledge of Accreditation Canada standards/ROPs and regulatory/legislation laws (e.g. ECFAA, QCIPA)
