Perform high-quality fusion splicing of fiber optic cables for multimode and single-mode systems.

Test, certify, and troubleshoot fiber optic infrastructure to ensure reliable network performance.

Clean and inspect fiber connections regularly to maintain optimal signal quality and minimize loss.

Terminate and label fiber optic cabling according to detailed project specifications and standards.

Conduct OTDR and power meter testing to validate fiber performance and identify faults.

Document all test results and maintain accurate installation, splicing, and certification records.

Work safely in active construction and data center environments, following all site safety procedures.

Coordinate with project teams to maintain installation schedules, quality standards, and deployment milestones.

Support high-volume deployments involving thousands of fiber strand connections across multiple data halls.

Use appropriate hand tools and low-voltage practices while pulling wire, routing data cable, and handling fiber.

Assist with troubleshooting and basic facilities-related tasks as needed in support of the data center build.
**Essential Skills**
At least 2 years of fiber optic installation and fusion splicing experience in a data center or mission-critical environment.

Proven experience pulling and installing armored fiber optic cable in large facilities or construction sites.

Strong fusion splicing skills with the ability to consistently deliver low-loss, high-quality splices.

Hands-on experience testing, cleaning, and certifying fiber optic infrastructure using OTDR and power meters.

Experience working with multimode fiber systems, including installation, splicing, and testing.

Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, fiber cabling schedules, and related documentation.

Comfort working rotating shifts, including nights and weekends, in a 24/7 project environment.

Proficiency using common hand tools safely and effectively in a construction and data center environment.
**Additional Skills & Qualifications**

**Why Work Here?**
You join a project-based workplace that offers substantial travel support and predictable rotations, allowing you to focus on your craft without worrying about logistics.

Hotels and flights are covered, and a daily per diem supports meals and transportation needs, including rental cars if desired.

The role provides 3–6 months of steady work with the potential to extend, giving you the opportunity to deepen your expertise in large-scale, mission-critical data center deployments.

You work alongside a dedicated crew, benefit from structured shifts, and gain valuable experience in high-volume fiber installations that can advance your career in data center and network infrastructure.
**Work Environment**
You work primarily in new construction and refurbishment data center sites, often in an air-cooled atmosphere that can be cold in the winter and dusty due to ongoing construction.

Much of the day involves sitting in one area and performing splicing work, with extensive focus on precision fiber tasks.

You live in hotels or camp-style accommodations with the crew, and travel to and from sites occurs via carpooling or buses.

The project operates with three different shift patterns and associated living arrangements: a 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. shift based in PG with bus commuting to Mackenzie (commuting time covered), a 3:00 p.m. to 1:00 a.m. shift based in Mackenzie, and an 11:00 p.m. to 9:00 a.m. shift also based in Mackenzie.
