Become a Swim Instructor with the City of Fernie, where you'll teach swim lessons and promote water safety. Work hours are based on program registration and include weekdays, weekends, and evenings.
This casual role reports to the Aquatics Supervisor and the Manager of Parks and Recreation. As a Swim Instructor, you will develop lesson plans, organize equipment, and ensure safety and cleanliness at the Aquatic Centre. Strong customer service skills are essential for creating a positive experience for all participants.
Key Responsibilities:
• Deliver engaging swim programs and lessons
• Organize and set up swim program equipment
• Greet participants and provide necessary information
• Maintain a safe and clean aquatic workplace
• Record participant performance and feedback
Requirements:
• Bronze Cross Certification (not necessarily current)
• Current National Lifesaving Society Swim Instructor Certification
• Current Standard First Aid Certification
• Current CPR Level C Certification
• Experience working with children and positive customer service skills
