Contribute to highway safety with Volker Stevin as a Seasonal Highway Maintenance Worker in Calgary, AB. Focus on roadway functionality from October to April in various outdoor conditions.
This full-time seasonal role reports to the Foreman and emphasizes safety culture, proper traffic measures, and emergency responses. You'll handle documentation, manage high-volume work zones, and maintain equipment, ensuring accountability and compliance with safety standards while performing tasks outside, including in adverse weather conditions.
Key Responsibilities:
• Maintain signage and traffic control under various conditions
• Document logs, safety records, and status reports
• Safely handle hazardous materials and operate in emergency situations
• Inspect and service company vehicles and equipment regularly
• Operate heavy equipment as necessary
Requirements:
• Valid Class 3 or 1 Driver’s License with air brake endorsement
• 50+ hours of snowplow operation experience preferred
• Ability to work on call and night shifts
• Relevant experience with light to heavy equipment
• Successful completion of pre-employment drug testing
