Job Description
We are hiring a Power BI Data Analyst / Developer to support a strategic reporting modernization initiative within a Capital Markets technology organization.
This individual will be responsible for transforming static reports into dynamic, executive-ready dashboards that deliver meaningful business insights and support informed decision-making.
The ideal candidate will combine strong Power BI development expertise with exceptional communication and presentation skills, with a focus on storytelling and business-facing reporting.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop visually compelling, executive-ready dashboards that communicate clear narratives, not just data.
- Build and maintain robust semantic models following star schema and snowflake design principles.
- Write advanced DAX measures, calculation groups, and time-intelligence calculations.
- Develop efficient data transformation pipelines using Power Query (M).
- Implement Row-Level Security (RLS) and Object-Level Security (OLS) to enforce data access governance.
- Manage Power BI Service workspaces, datasets, and deployment pipelines.
- Maintain reports using Git-integrated PBIP format with CI/CD deployment pipelines.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to translate business questions into meaningful reports.
- Ensure reports meet usability, accessibility, and performance best practices.

Skills and Requirements
- Strong expertise in data modeling, including star schema, snowflake, and normalization.
- Advanced DAX and Power Query (M) proficiency.
- Experience with semantic modeling, calculation groups, and performance optimization.
- Solid understanding of Direct
Query, Import, and Composite models.
- Proficiency with RLS and OLS for enterprise data security.
- Experience with Power BI Service, workspace management, and deployment pipelines.
- Git-based version control for Power BI projects, including PBIP format and CI/CD integration.
- Familiarity with Copilot in Power BI and AI-powered visuals.
- Proficiency with Tabular Editor, Best Practice Analyzer, DAX Studio, and Performance Analyzer.
- Robust presentation and data storytelling skills.
- Up to date with the latest Power BI and Microsoft Fabric capabilities. - Ability to present a sample dashboard during the interview to demonstrate storytelling, design quality, and communication skills.
- Experience using Power
Point to present dashboards and insights to business stakeholders.
- Capital Markets, Corporate Banking, or broader Financial Services experience.
- Experience supporting executive, client, finance, or profitability reporting.
- Experience partnering with data engineering teams to ensure datasets are appropriately modeled for Power BI reporting.
- Experience supporting the modernization and migration of static reports into Power BI.
