Position Overview
The Maintenance Technician performspreventative maintenance, repairs, inspections, and troubleshooting throughoutDakota Dunes Thermal Spa to support safe, reliable, and uninterruptedoperations. This position responds to maintenance requests in a timely mannerand works collaboratively with all departments to minimize disruptions toguests and daily operations.
The Maintenance Technician who reports to the Facilities Operation Manager will be familiarwith mechanical, electrical, plumbing, pool, HVAC, controls, life-safety,kitchen, laundry, and specialty wellness systems through reviewing manuals,warranties, service agreements and vendor contracts.
Key Responsibilities
Complete scheduled preventative maintenance anddocumented inspections according to manufacturer, regulatory, and facilityrequirements.
Respond promptly to work orders, equipmentalarms, leaks, temperature issues, lighting problems, plumbing concerns, door/lockissues, and other facility needs.
Troubleshoot equipment and complete repairswithin scope; elevate specialized work to qualified contractors when required.
Support pool and thermal system operation,water-feature equipment, pumps, filtration, heating, ventilation, and controlsas assigned and trained.
Maintain accurate maintenance logs, meterreadings, repair records, parts usage, and equipment history.
Coordinate with other departments to minimizeguest disruption during repairs and maintenance.
Maintain tools, workshops, mechanical rooms,and storage areas in safe, clean and organized conditions.
Follow Occupational Health and Safety, WHMIS,lockout/tagout, confined-space, electrical, chemical handling, and otherapplicable procedures.
Identify hazards, equipment deterioration,water intrusion, slip risks, or unsafe conditions and take immediate actionwithin authority.
Support inspections, emergency response,fire/life-safety testing, and regulatory compliance.
Use appropriate personnel protective equipmentand ensure contractors follow site safety requirements.
Recommend reliability, energy efficiency, waterconservation, and lifecycle improvements based on observed equipmentperformance.
Participate in equipment commissioning,deficiency reviews, system testing, asset tagging, and turnover from contractors.
Qualifications
Highschool diploma or equivalent.
Relevanttrade certification or specialized training is considered an asset.
2+ yearsof experience in resort or hotel maintenance is preferred.
Knowledgeof basic plumbing, electrical, and HVAC systems.
Ability totroubleshoot and repair equipment and facilities.
Familiaritywith safety regulations and procedures.
Strongcommunication and interpersonal skills.
Ability tostand, walk, bend, kneel, climb stairs and ladders, and perform physicallydemanding work; and exposure to varying temperatures.
Ability towork independently and prioritize multiple tasks.
WHMIScertification is preferred.
First Aideand CPR certification is preferred.
Validdriver's license is required.
Ability towork flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and on-call shiftsas required.
