The Town of Fort Smith is looking for an experienced Aquatics Program Coordinator to enhance community recreation. This full-time role involves supervision, program development, and aquatic safety management.
As the Aquatics Program Coordinator, you will lead day-to-day operations at the William Schaefer Memorial Pool. Reporting to the Director of Community Services, you will oversee staff hiring, training, and certification while developing a variety of aquatic programs. Your leadership will directly impact the standards of water safety and community engagement.
Key Responsibilities:
• Oversee daily operations at the aquatic facility
• Hire, train, and certify aquatics staff and students
• Develop and evaluate diverse aquatic programs
• Ensure compliance with water health and safety standards
• Facilitate community services delivery through aquatics
Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Recreation or related field
• Minimum 2 years of supervisory experience in recreation
• Solid management and communication skills
• Knowledge of pool water chemistry standards
• Pool Operator 1 Certificate is an asset
