The Mining Engineer is responsible for developing and optimizing mine plans that support safe, efficient, and cost-effective operations. Working closely with operations, geoscience, maintenance, and leadership teams, this role balances short and long-term planning objectives while adapting to changing mine conditions.
Your Success Will Be Defined By Your Ability To Create, update, and manage mine plans, production schedules, and forecast models to ensure alignment with operational targets and business goals.
Track mining progress and revise plans as needed in response to equipment performance, geological variability, weather conditions, production demands, and other operational factors.
Contribute to short-term mine planning by converting production objectives into practical execution plans, coordinating closely with site operations, and implementing timely adjustments to enhance safety, efficiency, and overall mine performance.
Partner with operations, geology, reclamation, and technical stakeholders to improve mine sequencing strategies, material handling processes, and equipment utilization.
Evaluate operational metrics and performance data to identify improvement opportunities, providing recommendations that strengthen productivity, operational excellence, and workplace safety.
Your strengths include: Bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering or similar.
P.Eng. designation, or eligibility for registration in Canada, is an asset.
Experience in mine planning, production, and operations within large-scale mining environments.
Robust analytical and decision-making skills, with the ability to balance safety, production, and business priorities.
