Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Sheet Metal Journeyman to join our dynamic construction team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for installing, fabricating, and maintaining sheet metal systems across a variety of commercial and industrial projects. Your expertise will ensure that HVAC systems, ductwork, and other metal components are accurately crafted and expertly installed, contributing to the safety, efficiency, and quality of our construction endeavors.

Duties

- Read and interpret detailed blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to accurately fabricate and install sheet metal components.
- Use hand tools such as snips, hammers, drills, and measuring devices to cut, shape, and assemble sheet metal parts with precision.
- Install ductwork, ventilation systems, roofing flashings, and other sheet metal elements according to project specifications.
- Collaborate with project managers, architects, and other trades to ensure seamless integration of sheet metal systems within overall construction plans.
- Perform maintenance and restoration work on existing sheet metal installations as needed.
- Apply skills in welding, caulking, drywall finishing, plumbing integration, flooring installation, tile laying,



and construction painting when required for comprehensive project execution.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment by adhering to safety protocols and properly handling tools and materials.

Experience

- Proven experience as a Sheet Metal Journeyman or similar role within the construction industry.
- Extensive knowledge of hand tools used in sheet metal fabrication and installation.
- Strong background in construction practices including carpentry, drywall finishing, plumbing connections, welding techniques, flooring installation, tile laying, and caulking.
- Ability to read complex blueprints and schematics accurately for precise fabrication and installation tasks.
- Construction experience with a focus on HVAC systems or metal roofing is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with restoration projects or renovation work involving sheet metal components is a plus.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to troubleshooting on-site challenges.
