The Calgary Academy Ski and Snowboard Club (CASSC), Alberta’s largest school ski and snowboard program, strives to improve the skiing and snowboarding abilities of grade 5-12 Calgary Academy students who are already excelling in their sport. We aim to maximize their on-snow training during school hours to create life‑long athletes and advocates of the sport. This program includes aspects of all mountain and technical skiing and riding, avalanche awareness, moguls and goal setting.

Provide safe ski/snowboard instruction/coaching to Calgary Academy athletes

Ensure all students are having fun and are eager to come back the next session

Improve the skiing and snowboarding skills of Calgary Academy students

Instill a passion for the sport of skiing in athletes, parents, and anyone you come into contact with

Be athlete focused





Achieve athlete’s performance goals set for the season; Athlete Advancement Plan (APP)

Maintain the positive reputation of Calgary Academy and CASSC

Run on hill coaching and training sessions

Meet with athletes, coaches, parents as needed, either verbally by phone, on-line or face to face

Ensure on hill safety measures

Maintain training records. Day 1 evaluations and final reports

English Fluency Level required for position Advanced

Requirements

Must have taken and passed one of the recognized coaching association courses such as

Canadian Ski Instructors Association (CSIA)

Canadian Ski Federation of Coaches (CSFC)

Canada Freestyle Club Coach

Police Checks. All coaches employed by the clubs will obtain Police Information Checks including the Vulnerable Sector Check. These clean reports are required before November 1 each year. Police checks can be obtained from local Calgary Police Services or RCMP offices.

Perks & Perks

This position pays between $150-$250/day, paying above industry standards. A mid week seasons pass to Lake Louise is negotiable.
