Amazon's Robotics team in Toronto, Ontario is looking for a

Software Development Engineer Intern for Summer 2027 or Spring/Fall co-op roles. This is a full-time, in-office internship running Monday-Friday, up to 40 hours per week.

As an SDE Intern on the Amazon Robotics team, you'll be matched with a manager and a mentor who will guide your project work throughout the term. You'll contribute to scalable distributed systems, cloud architectures, and robotics-integrated software that powers Amazon's fulfilment operations globally.

Key Responsibilities

Design and develop scalable solutions using cloud-native architectures and microservices in a large distributed computing environment.

Build and maintain resilient distributed systems that are scalable, fault-tolerant, and cost-effective.

Collaborate with cross-disciplinary engineers to design, build, and operate products and services.

Participate in code reviews and contribute to technical documentation.

Leverage and contribute to the development of GenAI and AI-powered tools to enhance development productivity.

Write clean, maintainable code following best practices and design patterns.

Work in an agile environment practising CI/CD principles while participating in on-call operational responsibilities.

Design, develop, and test software components that interact with fulfillment centre technologies such as robotics, material handling equipment, computer vision, and cloud services.

Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve production issues as part of operational excellence.

Basic Qualifications

Are 18 years of age or older

Bachelor's degree or above (in progress) in Computer Science, Computer Engineering,



Data Science, Information Systems, or related STEM fields

Experience with at least one general-purpose programming language such as Java, Python, C++, C#, Go, Rust, or TypeScript

Experience with data structure implementation, basic algorithm development, and/or object-oriented design principles

At least one quarter/semester/trimester remaining in studies after internship concludes

Preferred Qualifications

Experience from previous technical internship(s) or demonstrated project experience

Experience with Cloud platforms (preferably AWS), database systems (SQL and NoSQL), AI tools for development productivity, contributing to open-source projects, and/or version control systems

Robust problem-solving and analytical skills; excellent written and verbal communication skills

Demonstrated ability to learn and adapt to new technologies quickly

Basic understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC)

Experience within Robotics, Computer Vision, Machine Learning, Optimization, Manipulation, Perception, Motion Planning and Controls, Movement, Autonomous Navigation, Path Planning, or related fields

Compensation & Benefits The starting pay for this position is $100,810 CAD Annually. Amazon also offers basic life & AD&D; insurance, paid time off, and other resources to improve health and well-being.
