SUMMARY The Space Planner ensures the effective management of all space occupied by an assigned client and develops occupancy and logistical options to achieve client occupancy needs. The space planner provides cost, schedule, and scope development for options developed.
Options are developed in support of annual planning and in response to client on-demand business needs. The incumbent teams with internal BGIS, client and consultant resources, as required, to ensure timely, successful implementation of space and occupancy planning initiatives.
KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Uses in-depth knowledge of advanced programming techniques, design patterns and hardware/software interfaces to develop original multi-tier, complex web applications.
- Performs work with minimum supervision, and work is assigned in terms of technical objectives.
- May lead a small team to work on software development projects.
- Provides guidance/mentors on programming practices and techniques to individuals and cross functional teams.
- Designs, tests and integrates software modules and resolves programming errors using various debugging tools and techniques.
- Provides support, guidance and production assurance for complex or urgent problems.
- Conducts impact analysis for proposed changes to problems across the system
- Prepares technical documentation (e.g., user guides, technical specifications).
- Leads team discussions in the analysis and collaboration to clarify and improve specifications or to identify alternative programming solutions.
- Makes recommendations or decisions on architecture, application design, standards and process improvements.
- Enforces team and organizational standards and practices (e.g. at walkthroughs and peer code reviews).
- Engages in continuous learning by developing and executing on a learning plan.
- Takes responsibility for your individual and the team’s results.
- Estimates and prioritizes work to maximize value while considering account risk,
effort, and dependencies.
- Raises impediments, risks, and issues as early as possible and work the team to mitigate as needed.

KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS
- Bachelors’ Degree or Diploma in Interior Design or Architectural Technology.
- More than one year, up to 3 years of job-related experience.
- Software proficiencies related to the assignment – MS Excel, Project, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook; AutoCAD; CAFM; etc.
- Experience in facilities office planning and general knowledge of real estate business. General understanding of leasing structures.
- Ability to financially assess proposed office relocations/changes including estimating/forecasting skills.
- Strong working knowledge of project management, design, move management, construction and rescheduling as well as knowledge of various furniture systems, interiors, materials, and finishes.
- Knowledge of and experience with industry standards and regulations.
- Strong organizational and time management skills. Ability to manage multiple assignments simultaneously.

This is a regular, full-time position with a salary range of $63,397 - $79,246 per annum. The starting salary will be based on the successful candidate’s competencies, including but not limited to experience, education and performance related to this role.
