Lead Whitby Fire & Emergency Services as Fire Chief, shaping a vibrant community through strategic fire service management. This hybrid role emphasizes exceptional public safety and community engagement.

Reporting to the CAO, the Fire Chief will provide senior leadership and strategic direction for all sections within Whitby Fire & Emergency Services. You'll assure service excellence in public education, prevention, suppression, and rescue while balancing service delivery against taxpayer funding. Your role extends to overseeing staff training and ensuring compliance with regulations and standards.

Key Responsibilities:



• Provide strategic oversight for fire service operations • Ensure exceptional customer service in fire and emergency responses • Manage staff training and career development • Uphold compliance with fire service legislation and codes • Collaborate with senior leadership for community objectives

Requirements: • Post-secondary diploma/degree in Fire Service or related • Minimum 12 years of fire service experience • 5 years of senior leadership in a unionized environment • Completion of Ontario Fire College training • CEMC professional designation is required
