The Sonographer is responsible for performing high-quality diagnostic ultrasound examinations while ensuring a safe, compassionate, and professional patient experience. This role requires solid technical expertise, clinical judgment, and the ability to work both independently and within a multidisciplinary team.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform diagnostic ultrasound examinations (e.g., abdominal, obstetrical, gynecological, and musculoskeletal imaging)
- Prepare patients, obtain history, and explain procedures clearly
- Operate ultrasound equipment to produce high-quality diagnostic images
- Ensure accurate documentation and maintain imaging records
- Collaborate with radiologists and interdisciplinary teams
- Maintain patient safety, privacy, and infection control standards
- Support workflow efficiency in both scheduled and urgent environments
Qualifications & Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited diagnostic medical sonography program
- Registration with College of Medical Radiation and Imaging Professionals of Saskatchewan (CMRIPS).
- Minimum 1 year of clinical experience preferred
- Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and ultrasound procedures
- Excellent communication and patient-care skills
- Ability to work independently and within a team
- Legally authorized to work in Canada
