Assists in planning/implementation/evaluation of program activities based on determinants of health, best practice literature & community assessment. Provides health information/consultation/emotional support & referral via telephone & in one‑on‑one contacts (clinical, school, home & community setting). Reviews/develops/evaluates educational materials. Assists in writing articles/preparing bulletin board displays & appearing in television interviews. Conducts educational programs for selected population groups in a variety of settings. Provides parenting education & support programs to foster healthy functioning families.
Uses strategies to reduce communicable disease including immunization. Screens infants & preschool children for specific delays & deficiencies related to growth & development. Provides observational experiences for nursing/medical/nutrition students. Precepts nursing students. Maintains accurate client records/statistics/workload measurement tools. Human Resources Exemption:
No Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BScN) Other Education and Training Basic Life Support Certificate (BLS) Knowledge and Abilities Ability to communicate with clients from diverse economic backgrounds Ability to work independently and as a member of a multi-disciplinary team Ability to communicate with clients from diverse social backgrounds Ability to communicate with clients from diverse cultural backgrounds Other Information May be eligible for Recruitment and/or Retention Incentives Multi‑site position serving communities across former region/network boundaries Travel within the region and provincially Registered/eligible with the College of Registered Nurses of Saskatchewan (CRNS)
