OVERVIEW: Reporting to the Executive Director, the Support Work Program (SWP) Supervisor oversees the direction and planning of the Support Work program and directly supervises all Support Work Program Staff. The Supervisor provides program leadership, supports staff development, oversees program operations, and maintains strong relationships with community partners and stakeholders.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Identify staffing needs andcollaborate with HR to recruit, hire, and onboard staff.

Onboard and off board SWP staff in consultation with HR.

Provide guidance, direction and coaching to staff.l

Provide orientation and training for staff to use program resources and services.

Manage performance evaluation process and any disciplinary action as required.

Organize staff meetings and take lead role.

Manage attendance and accept and authorize timesheets for approval.

Develop and implement policies and procedures.

Create and maintain forms & templates.

Conduct research of comparable programs to determine effective models and strategies for service provision.

Seek and establish community partnerships to access and build resources.





Supervisor and plan for program usage of visiting home properties, assess and develop property needs and how they relate to program objectives.

Develop and implement program evaluation measures.

Complete program updates monthly for Executive Director.

Compile monthly statistics for reporting.

Collaborate with other SAI staff to complete financial aspects of reporting.

Contribute to Annual Report.

Develop and deliver presentations on the SWP when required.

Travel to the First Nations, with possible overnight stay, to attend community events, meetings and career fairs

QUALIFICATIONS

Post-secondary education in arelated field is required; Bachelor of Social Work preferred.

Completion of Bachelor of Social Work with relevant professional experience in the Social Services field. A combination of related education and experience may be considered.

Three to five years of supervisor experience is required.

Ability to manage and lead a multi-disciplinary team.

Knowledge of the Child and Family Services (CFS) sector and legislation.

Demonstrate knowledge and/or understanding of Indigenous perspectives, First Nations culture and traditional philosophies.

Ability to multi-task and prioritize conflicting duties.

Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a high attention to detail.

Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office, MS Word, Excel, Outlook.

Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Maintains a high level of professionalism, discretion, and confidentiality.

Must have a valid Manitoba driver's license, Driver's Abstract and a reliable vehicle.

Must provide a current satisfactory Criminal Record Check (including Vulnerable Sector), Child Abuse Registry and Prior Contact Checks as a condition of employment.
