Twin Rivers Elementary School

1.0 FTE Early French Immersion Primary Teacher

Temporary: Immediately – October 30, 2026, or full return of the incumbent

NOTE: This assignment may end prior to the end date, or it may be extended.

Qualifications:

- BC Certification
- Bachelor of Education in Elementary
- Previous successful experience teaching at the primary level is preferred
- Undergraduate degree with a major in French or teaching specialization in French Immersion preferred
- Demonstrated current knowledge of the renewed curriculum, including the learning and core competencies and appropriate resources is essential
- Previous successful experience teaching all subjects in French Immersion at the elementary level is preferred
- Fluently bilingual. Demonstrated fluency in both English and French in both the receptive and expressive modes,



oral and written
- Willingness to be demonstrably supportive of immersion education
- Demonstrated knowledge of second language methodology
- Demonstrated ability to use a variety of instructional and assessment strategies
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team workplace
- Excellent communication, interpersonal and classroom management skills

Note: Candidates may be asked to complete an oral or written French language screening to determine levels of language proficiency.

The annual salary for this position ranges from $64,012 to $118,237, with placement on the range based on length of service and qualifications in accordance with the collective agreement.
