This role resides in the Capital Markets Product Control team. In this role it will be required to research, builds, and implements scalable artificial intelligence systems capable of learning and making predictions to business requirements, with a focus on finance/accounting operations (month/quarter/year-end close, reconciliations, reporting, and governance). Enhances data pipelines to ensure data is clean, accurate, and optimized for machine learning models; monitors and optimizes learning processes to continuously improve model performance.

This role will help build more effective tools that would enhance the month-, quarter-, and year-end closing process, including financial reporting and financial governance. Supports an efficient and effective accounting function that uses common information sources and practices, reduces ongoing costs, and increases service level performance. This role looks to also drive change using AI tools and skills set to generate efficiencies.

- Develops solutions and makes recommendations based on an understanding of the business strategy and stakeholder needs.
- Researches, builds, and implements scalable AI systems to support business requirements, including finance/accounting reporting and governance needs.
- Runs tests, performs statistical analysis, and interprets test results to validate model performance and reliability for business use.
- Monitors, evaluates, and optimizes learning processes to continuously improve high-performance models.
- Provides advice and guidance to assigned business/group on implementation of solutions.
- Supports the execution of strategic initiatives; includes tracking metrics and milestones.
- Builds effective relationships with internal/external stakeholders.




- Provides advice and on the implementation of accounting solutions and operational programs.
- Reviews supporting documentation, escalating areas of concern and making any necessary amendments.
- Coordinates and executes specific activities for the implementation of strategic initiatives; includes tracking metrics and milestones.
- Executes routine tasks (e.g. service requests, transactions, queries, etc.) within relevant service level agreements.
- Organizes work information to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Collaborates with internal and external stakeholders to deliver on business objectives.
- Develops knowledge related to business / group accounting requirements and standards.
- Works with other data and analytics professionals to optimize, refine, automate, and scale analysis into repeatable analytics solutions and decision support tools for finance/accounting stakeholders.
- Develops ML applications, implements algorithms, and builds tools to apply ML frameworks in production-like workflows that support business processes.
- Turns unstructured data into helpful information where applicable (e.g., auto-tagging documents, extracting attributes, or assisting narrative/reporting workflows).
- Focus may be on a business/group.
- Thinks creatively and proposes new solutions.
- Exercises judgment to identify, diagnose, and solve problems within given rules.

Qualifications:

- Typically between 5 - 7 years of relevant experience and post-secondary degree in related field of study or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Completed or near completion of an accounting designation is a plus
- Specialized knowledge from education and/or business experience.

Salary :

$70,000.00 - $150,000.00

Pay Type

Salaried The above represents BMO Financial Group's pay range and type. Salaries will vary based on factors such as location, skills, experience, education, and qualifications for the role, and may include a commission structure.
