Position Summary Information

Advertisement The Nursing- BSN Program at St. Catherine University invites applications for a full-time Assistant Professor of Nursing, BSN College for Adults (Hybrid/Evening/Weekend) position.

Duties will include

- Facilitates student learning in assigned courses by teaching and advising a diverse student population, modeling socialization to nursing roles, and referring students to appropriate University services.
- Evaluates student learning in assigned courses.
- Assesses, designs, teaches, and evaluates curricular content and learning experiences in assigned courses to promote student learning outcomes.
- Maintains curricular integrity by ensuring course content promotes achievement of course student learning outcomes identified in the Program of study curriculum map.
- Selects methods and tools to assess, measure, and evaluate student learning outcomes in assigned courses.
- Uses identified assessment methods to evaluate achievement of student learning outcomes in assigned courses.
- Provides clear, timely, and specific evaluative feedback to students about course assignments and/or clinical performance.
- Participates in and/or completes the faculty course evaluation form at the end of the course.
- Integrates evaluative findings in the course improvement process.
- Evaluates adequacy of clinical placements for student learning in assigned courses.
- Facilitates student learning in assigned courses by teaching and advising a diverse student population, modeling socialization to nursing roles, and referring students to appropriate University services.
- Participates in recruitment, orientation, and advising activities according to POS , DoN, and University requirements.
- Evaluates the adequacy of POS , nursing program, DoN, University, and community resources that are used to promote student achievement of learning outcomes in assigned courses.
- Identifies resources needed to promote student achievement of learning outcomes in assigned courses and communicates rationale for needed resources to the Program Director.
- Participates in recruitment,



orientation, and advising activities according to Program of Study, School of Nursing, and University requirements.
- Communicates accurate information about the DoN nursing programs to students, faculty and professional colleagues, and other external audiences.
- Engages in activities that promote positive relationships with students, faculty and professional colleagues, clinical and community agencies, alumnae, and other external groups.
- Serves on Program of Study, School of Nursing, and/or University committees.
- Participates in designated committee, program, and School of Nursing activities to implement the program-specific systematic evaluation plan.
- Uses assessment and evaluative data from the program-specific systematic evaluation plan to promote achievement of student learning outcomes and program outcomes.
- Collaborates with nursing faculty, Program Director, Associate Dean of Nursing, and Dean of Nursing to establish and accomplish short- and long-range goals for the nursing program.
- Models and mentors relational presence that is rooted in Catholic

Catherine

University and the School of Nursing vision, mission, and philosophy.

- Engages in scholarship activities that develop expertise and ability to fulfill faculty responsibilities.
- Contributes to professional development of faculty colleagues through peer review, mentoring, consultation, and scholarship activities.

Minimum Qualifications

- Master’s degree in Nursing
- Current and unencumbered licensure as registered nurse in Minnesota

Preferred Qualifications

- Doctoral degree in nursing

Compensation: Annual wage is $68,730 – $74,500 depending on qualifications and experience.
