Our care team brings together experienced certified doulas, nurses, lactation professionals, perinatal support workers, midwives and other maternal and infant care specialists to support families through one of the most important transitions of their lives.

Our approach is simple: care for the mother so she can recover, rest, and feel confident caring for her baby.

We are growing our Ontario Care Team and are looking for experienced Certified Postpartum Doulas who share our commitment to compassionate, professional, evidence-informed postpartum care.

About the RoleAs an Alma Care Specialist, you will provide personalized, in-home postpartum support to new mothers,



parents and their babies.

You will become a trusted presence in the home—supporting recovery, newborn care, feeding, rest and the transition into parenthood.

Depending on each family's care plan, your responsibilities may include:

- Providing daytime and/or overnight postpartum doula support
- Supporting the mother's physical and emotional recovery after birth
- Providing compassionate, non-judgmental emotional support and reassurance
- Supporting parents with newborn care, including feeding, soothing, diapering and bathing
- Supporting breastfeeding, pumping and/or bottle feeding within your scope of practice
- Providing infant care while parents rest, shower, recover or attend appointments
- Preparing nourishing meals and snacks for the postpartum parent and family
- Supporting healthy postpartum routines and recovery practices
- Providing practical household support related to the mother and baby
- Educating and empowering parents with newborn-care skills and resources
- Communicating observations and relevant care information clearly and professionally
- Maintaining accurate care documentation
- Participating in Alma Care education, workshops and team knowledge-sharing opportunities as appropriate

The Ideal CandidateYou are an experienced postpartum doula who is:
- Currently certified as a Postpartum Doula
- Experienced providing hands-on postpartum care in clients' homes
- Confident caring for newborns and supporting postpartum parents
- Comfortable supporting both breastfeeding and bottle-feeding families
- Calm, warm,



reliable and highly professional
- A strong communicator with excellent boundaries and judgment
- Comfortable working independently while being part of a larger care team
- Respectful of diverse family structures, cultures, traditions and parenting philosophies
- Committed to providing non-judgmental, mother-centered care
- Passionate about improving postpartum care in Canada

Experience with twins, multiples, premature infants, lactation support, overnight care or complex postpartum needs is an asset. Required Qualifications

- Current certification from a recognized postpartum doula training organization (e.g. DONA, CAPPA, ProDoula, Doula Canada or equivalent)
- Current Infant CPR / First Aid certification
- Valid Vulnerable Sector Check, dated within the past year
- Personal professional liability insurance
- Reliable transportation and ability to travel to clients throughout the GTA
- Food Handler certification is an asset

AvailabilityWe are currently building our Ontario team and are especially interested in doulas who have availability for:
- Daytime shifts (minimum 4 hours)
- Overnight shifts (typically 10–12 hours)
- Evening shifts
- Weekends and holidays

We are particularly interested in doulas who can commit to 3+ shifts per week, but we welcome experienced certified doulas with other availability as we continue to grow our team. Compensation$25–$35/hour, depending on relevant experience and qualifications
