Become a Youth Worker in the Anti Human Trafficking Department at Covenant House Toronto. This full time role focuses on direct support and care for youth in transitional housing.
Covenant House is seeking a dedicated Youth Worker for its Anti Human Trafficking team with responsibilities that involve specialized counseling and crisis intervention. The ideal candidate will engage in a variety of activities including ongoing assessments, safety planning, and maintaining the well-being of young women in care. This critical role requires compassion, communication skills, and teamwork to ensure a safe, supportive environment.
Key Responsibilities: • Conduct ongoing assessments of youth needs • Provide trauma-informed crisis intervention • Assist youth with routines and sleep hygiene • Advocate for youth in various settings • Perform documentation and ensure accuracy
Requirements: • Degree or diploma in child and youth work • Two years of experience in a residential setting • Knowledge of adolescent developmental issues • First Aid and CPR certifications preferred • Strong communication skills and crisis management ability
