Summary

NOTE: This job posting is for Afternoon Shift (4PM to 12: 30AM) and it is on-site job.

This position is responsible for assembling a variety of electronic and/or mechanical equipment to ensure products are on time for shipment. The successful candidates will read and interpret instructions, assemble parts and tools, and fit electronic components together.

Responsibilities

Mechanical assembly of electronic and subassemblies

Build wire harnesses and cables, crimp, route and tie cables & cable harnesses

Mount components in electronic panels

Read mechanical assembly drawings and build to print

Read assembly instructions and build to process requirements

Prepare product for shipment including packaging or dest, performing out of box audit & physically moving materials from production cell to warehouse

Transfer inventory between stocking locations in the Oracle ERP system

Physical & systematic tagging, segregating, and moving of defective material to an information material location

Issue Quality Escape Report (QER) to the appropriate personnel as required

Participate in lean events such as 5S and basic workstation redesign

Maintain 5S standards in the work cell

Ensure an anti-static protection is always worn to prevent damage to static sensitive parts

Work in a safe manner and ensure appropriate training is taken to do tasks safely

Report any incidents or injuries while on the job

As needed, will be required to run smart tools and automated test equipment on assembled devices

Carry responsibilities in accordance with GE's Quality Assurance and Workforce standards





Abide by all GE corporate and local policies and procedures including but not limited to Integrity – The Code of Conduct, Quality Management System and Environmental Health and Safety policies.

Qualifications / Requirements

Flexibility and adaptability to work anywhere on the shop floor

Experience in wiring, soldering, cabling and/or mechanical fabrication

Ability to read assembly drawings and schematics

Good understanding of verbal and written communication

Valuable interpersonal skills are an asset, as this position will require occasional interdepartmental communications

Basic computer skills are required

Ability to lift up to 25lbs as part of daily duties
