Heavy Equipment Loader Operator (Pit) We are seeking a skilled and safety-minded

Heavy Equipment Loader Operator to join our team. In this role, you will operate large front-end loaders to move, blend, and load aggregate materials (rock, sand, gravel) into haul trucks and hoppers within our pit operations.

Core Responsibilities

Material Handling

Safely load haul trucks, crushers, and feed hoppers while optimizing cycle times and monitoring weight distributions.

Pit Maintenance

Maintain clean and orderly stockpiles, keep pit floors clear of debris, and assist with general site housekeeping.

Equipment Care

Perform required daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections, document equipment conditions, and complete basic maintenance like greasing and fueling.

Team Communication

Coordinate closely with truck drivers, plant operators, and site supervisors via two-way radio to ensure safe and efficient material flow.

Safety Adherence





Strictly follow all company safety policies, site specific rules, and provincial mining/quarry regulations.

Qualifications & Skills

Experience

Minimum of

2+ years operating large front-end loaders (e.g., CAT 980 or larger) in a pit, quarry, or heavy civil construction environment.

Licensing

Valid

Class 5 driver's license

(or equivalent) with a clean commercial driving record.

Technical Skills

Robust ability to read pit layouts, judge distances, and safely maneuver large machinery in tight or high-traffic zones.

Physical Capability

Ability to lift up to

50 lbs , climb in and out of heavy machinery, and work extended shifts in varying outdoor weather conditions.

Wage dependent on experience.
