Join Newo Yotina Friendship Centre as an Indigenous Family Wellness Support Worker in Regina. Provide culturally secure, trauma-informed care for Indigenous women and gender-diverse individuals facing violence.
This full-time position requires a compassionate individual to assist families impacted by violence, fostering healing and safety in an urban environment. With a focus on early intervention and advocacy, you'll empower clients through support and connection to culturally grounded resources. Your role is essential in addressing the disproportionate impacts of violence on Indigenous communities.
Key Responsibilities: • Provide non-judgmental,
trauma-informed support to clients • Support safety planning based on individual readiness • Facilitate prevention programming and workshops • Advocate for clients navigating various support systems • Promote healthy relationships and culturally appropriate healing
Requirements: • Completed some post-secondary education • 1-2 years of relevant experience • Understanding of Indigenous perspectives and approaches • Strong advocacy skills for non-discriminatory practices • Ability to work with diverse client needs
