Assess learning needs and recommend learning outcomes, modalities, and instructional approaches

Integrate Indigenous Initiatives and Access, Community and Belonging into design and development work

Apply best practices in online learning, Universal Design for Learning, WCAG, accessibility, and digital learning experience/user experience design

Facilitate persona, onboarding, and content framework development with academics, subject matter experts, instructors, and partners

Develop or refine learning outcomes with academic leads and subject matter experts in alignment with assessment matrices

Guide development and refinement of online content, activities, assessments, interactives, and multimedia

Provide substantive editing and instructional design recommendations

Recommend and coordinate technologies, third-party tools, multimedia, and digital assets

Advise on copyright compliance and accessibility requirements

Collaborate with Learning Experience Developers, vendors, and partners on production and implementation

Coordinate with marketing and communications teams to support promotion of online offerings

Conduct course quality reviews, accessibility checks, and User Acceptance Testing

Contribute to continuous improvement of OCE quality standards, processes, and practices

Provide instructor onboarding and support

Collaborate with the Centre for Teaching and Learning and other teaching and learning partners

Coordinate projects to deliver on time, on budget, and to a high standard

Track project activities, timelines, deliverables, and status

Contribute to team communication, collaboration, process improvement, career development, research, conferences, workshops, and team culture

Requirements An Undergraduate degree in educational technology, instructional design, adult education or a related field is required A diploma with extensive instructional design experience may be considered A minimum of three years of online instructional design work experience





Experience creating online courses within various learning management systems and course authoring tools, including Articulate Rise & Storyline

Experience consulting, supporting, and including Indigenous Initiatives and Access, Community and Belonging across the digital learning experience

Experience developing learner personas, content frameworks, and storyboards

Experience in project management and the tools, approaches, and phases of the project lifecycle

Ability to design online learning using varied modalities, technologies, and multimedia

Strong coaching and facilitation skills

Ability to provide instructional design recommendations to clients and partners

Experience with editing, quality assurance, and user acceptance testing

Familiarity with copyright legislation and compliance

Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills

Experience designing credit, non-credit, and corporate digital learning experiences is preferred

Experience in planning, design, and development of micro-credentials is an asset

Experience and knowledge of web, graphic design, and multimedia development, including HTML, CSS, Adobe, Camtasia, and Dreamweaver, is an asset
