We are looking for a skilled Meat Cutter join ourteam!This role's responsibilitiesinclude performing quality inspections, using meat grinders, knives, saws, andother tools to cut meat down into smaller portions, weigh, price, and packagecuts, and ensure that displays and signage are attractive and eye-catching. Thesuccessful candidate will also speak to customers to determine their needs,provide advice regarding proper cuts of meat and preparation methods.

To succeed as a Meat Cutter, we are looking for someonewho is excellent with customers, knowledgeable, and detail-oriented, with excellentcommunication skills and a strong understanding of meat quality, cuts, andpreparation.

Duties/Responsibilities

Assist customers with meat selection includingcutting, trimming, and preparing products to customer specifications

Package, weigh, and price customer orders

Clean and maintain specialty knives andequipment

Provide customers with information aboutdifferent types and cuts of meat, cooking methods, and preparation techniques

Maintain display cases to health and safetystandards with proper product rotation

Ensure the store isclean, safe and ready for shoppers

Rotation, loading andunloading of meat department product

Stock and replaceproducts to avoid any damages

Backroom and inventorymanagement

Assist the department with regular inventory count

Assist with other departmental functions whichinclude but are not limited to rotating, stocking, cleaning and maintaining theappearance and organization of the store

Performsother related duties as assigned

Required Skills/Abilities

Great attention to detail

Good communication and people skills





Excellent organizational skills and attention todetail.

Excellent time management skills with a provenability to meet deadlines

Availableto work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays

Education and Experience

High school diploma or equivalent preferred

Journeyman certificateor verifiable experience as a Meat Cutter required

Physical Requirements

Prolonged periods of standing and walking

Ability to lift between 20 - 90 pounds

Comfortable working in a cold environment (coolers and freezers)

Frequent bending, walking, standing, twisting, pushing, or pulling
