Position #: 9013769 Expected Start Date: September 30, 2026 Union: SUN Facility: Birchview Home City/Town: Birch Hills Department: Primary Care Sites Type: Part-time temporary Expected Up to Date: August 31, 2027 FTE: 0.5 Shift Information: Days Number of Hours per Rotation: 7 shifts of 8 hours per 3 weeks Relief: No Float: No Hours of Work: Standard Hours Salary or Pay Band: Pay Band Nurse Practitioner $52.590 to $62.910 Travel Required: Yes In collaboration with Physicians and the Primary Care Team, the Nurse Practitioner will provide primary health care services to several communities.
This includes: health promotion and protection, disease and injury prevention, provision of supportive, instructive, treatment and emergency services; collaboration with and referral to other health care professionals; conducting community needs assessments and participating in evaluative projects. The incumbent reports to the Director of Primary Care for the Region.
Human Resources Exemption: No Experience - Experience in community needs assessment/development, health promotion
- 2 - 3 years experience as a Primary Care Nurse or Nurse Practitioner preferred.
- Three (3) years full time experience as a Registered Nurse Education - Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BScN)
- Master of Nursing - Nurse Practitioner (MN-NP) Licenses - Advanced Cardiac Life Support Certificate (ACLS)
- Basic Life Support Level C Certificate (BLS-C)
- Valid Class 5 driver's license Other Education and Training - Trauma Nurse Core Course (TNCC) or other trauma assessment course desired Knowledge and Abilities - Knowledge in community development
- Ability to competently use computers and software applications
- Works well as a team member & mentor, strong leadership & interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as a leader of a multidisciplinary team
- Working knowledge in health promotion
- Working knowledge of community needs assessment
- Communication skills to provide/obtain verbal and/or written opinions/advice Other Information - Registered/eligible with the College of Registered Nurses of Saskatchewan (CRNS)
