About the Role

ThePrevention & Wellbeing Manager leads Taykwa Tagamou Nation's preventionservices for children, youth, families, and the community. Reporting to theDirector of Social Services, the Manager supervises the prevention andwellbeing team and coordinates the programs they deliver, ensuring the work iscarried out in keeping with the TTN Child Wellbeing Law and Service DeliveryModel. The Manager also builds partnerships with community programs and outsideagencies, strengthens the capacity of the team, and advances culturallygrounded programming shaped by community priorities.

Responsibilities

- Consult with community members and leadership to identify needs, priorities, and opportunities for prevention and wellbeing services.
- Plan, develop, implement, and review prevention programs and Service Implementation Plans for children, youth,families, and the community.
- Supervise, guide, and support assigned staff, monitor progress against service objectives, and build a solid, collaborative team.
- Ensure programs and services alignwith the TTN Child Wellbeing Law, Service Delivery Model, organizationalpolicies, and strategic goals.
- Oversee cultural revitalizationactivities involving Elders and youth, and family support programming that strengthens parenting skills, improves family functioning, and helps prevent children from entering care.
- Liaise with Band Representatives, child welfare agencies, Children’s Aid Societies, and other service providers,



and maintain service agreements and productive partnerships.
- Consult with the Director of Social Services on programs, budgets, clients, staffing, and service concerns, and maintain confidentiality, accurate documentation, and reporting.

Qualifications

- Bachelor’sdegree in Social Services or a Social Service Worker diploma.
- Five to ten years of experience inthe social services field, including two to five years in a management position.
- Experience working directly with First Nations children, youth, families, and community programs.
- Working knowledge of the Child, Youthand Family Services Act and related legislation, and of case management, crisisresponse, and reporting.
- Understanding of the impacts of residential schools, and a commitment to culturally grounded, non-punitivehealing approaches derived from Cree culture.
- Valid Class G driver’s licence,willingness to travel and work flexible hours, and a satisfactory CriminalRecord Check prior to employment.
- Knowledge of Cree culture andland-based activities, and the ability to speak Cree, are considered assets.
