About the Role

EdgeTunePower is seeking an experienced Senior Protection & Control Engineer to support the design, analysis, validation, and implementation of protection systems for complex power systems.

The successful candidate will work across projects involving data centers, conventional generation, Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), inverter-based resources (IBRs), microgrids, and grid-connected and islanded power systems. This role requires robust technical expertise in protection philosophy, coordination, relay settings, and protection system studies.

Requirements

- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems Engineering, or a related field.
- 7+ years of relevant experience in power system protection and control engineering.
- Strong knowledge of protection principles, relay settings, coordination studies, and protection schemes.
- Experience with SEL and other major protection platforms.
- Experience with protection of BESS, IBRs, conventional generation, and/or large loads.
- Strong understanding of short-circuit, grounding,



and protection coordination principles.
- Familiarity with applicable IEEE, IEC, NERC, and NFPA standards.
- Ability to independently lead protection studies, analyze results, and develop practical engineering solutions.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills.

Preferred Qualifications

- P.Eng./PE designation or eligibility for professional registration.
- Experience with protection validation and commissioning.
- Experience with Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) testing.
- Experience with data centers, microgrids, or grid-connected and islanded power systems.
