SENIOR TRANSPORTATION OPERATIONS MANAGER / LEAD DISPATCHER Company: Sarai Trucking Limited Location: Brampton, Ontario Position: Full-Time, In office Compensation: $80,000–$105,000 per year, based on experience, plus performance incentives Sarai Trucking Limited is seeking a highly experienced and results-driven Senior Transportation Operations Manager / Lead Dispatcher to oversee our daily dispatch and fleet operations. This is a senior leadership position for someone who understands the trucking business, can effectively lead a dispatch team, manage drivers and customers, and make profitable operational decisions. We are looking for a dependable professional who takes ownership, solves problems quickly, and can help us build a disciplined, efficient, and scalable operation.

Key Responsibilities

- Oversee daily dispatch operations for Canada–USA cross-border freight • Lead, train, schedule, and hold dispatch staff accountable • Plan and assign profitable loads while minimizing empty miles and downtime • Monitor trucks, drivers, appointments, transit times, and hours of service • Maintain regular communication with drivers, brokers, customers, and internal departments • Negotiate freight rates and evaluate loads based on revenue, mileage, market conditions, and equipment availability • Ensure pickup and delivery appointments are completed on time • Resolve breakdowns, delays, rejected loads, service failures, and other operational emergencies • Track fleet utilization, revenue per truck, empty-mile percentage, on-time performance, and driver productivity • Build and maintain strong relationships with direct customers and freight brokers • Coordinate with safety, maintenance, payroll, and accounting departments • Improve dispatch procedures, reporting systems, and accountability • Assist with driver retention, performance management, and disciplinary matters • Provide ownership with clear daily and weekly operational reports Required Qualifications:




- Minimum 5 years of trucking dispatch or transportation operations experience • Minimum 2 years of experience leading dispatchers, drivers, or an operations team • Strong knowledge of Canada–USA cross-border trucking operations • Proven experience with load planning, rate negotiation, driver management, and customer service • Strong understanding of hours-of-service regulations and operational compliance • Ability to manage multiple trucks, drivers, loads, and emergencies simultaneously • Excellent communication, leadership, organization, and problem-solving skills • Comfortable using transportation management systems, load boards, GPS tracking, ELD platforms, email, and Microsoft Excel • Must be dependable, accountable, and able to perform in a fast-paced environment Preferred Qualifications:
- Existing relationships with freight brokers or direct customers • Experience managing dry-van, reefer, or specialized freight • Experience developing dispatch teams and operational procedures • Strong understanding of fleet profitability, cost per mile, revenue per truck, and market rates What We Offer:
