Committee Purpose and Overall Goals The Mentorship Program Committee is responsible for the design, governance, and oversight of the Bloom Mentorship Program. The committee ensures the program delivers meaningful, structured, and equitable mentorship experiences that support professional growth, leadership development, and long-term retention of women and gender-diverse professionals in the cannabis industry.

The committee establishes the framework, standards, and processes that guide mentor and mentee participation, ensuring the program reflects Bloom’s values of inclusivity, professionalism, accountability, and community impact.

Key Responsibilities The Mentorship Program Committee provides strategic direction and operational oversight for all aspects of the Bloom Mentorship Program, including:

- Design, development, and continuous improvement of the Bloom Mentorship Program structure
- Establishment of program goals, success criteria, timelines, and participation expectations
- Development and oversight of application, vetting, and approval processes for Mentors and Mentees
- Review and approval of Mentor and Mentee applications to ensure alignment with program standards
- Oversight of the mentor–mentee matching process, with consideration for experience level, goals, industry focus, and compatibility
- Development of onboarding materials, guidelines, and best practices for Mentors and Mentees
- Oversight of program policies, including codes of conduct, confidentiality, and professional boundaries
- Establishment of feedback mechanisms and evaluation tools to measure program effectiveness and participant satisfaction
- Ongoing program monitoring, issue resolution, and refinement based on outcomes and feedback
- Collaboration with other Bloom committees to align mentorship with broader community, education, and leadership initiatives

Governance and Accountability

- The committee is accountable to the Board of Directors of Bloom
- Regular Mentorship Program Committee meetings are required




- Meeting minutes must be recorded and maintained
- Regular reports must be submitted to the Board of Directors, including program updates, participation metrics, outcomes, issues, and recommendations

Qualifications and Experience for Success The Mentorship Program Committee is best supported by individuals with experience in leadership development, people management, or community programming. Preferred qualifications include:

- Working experience in the legal cannabis industry is a must
- Charity or non-profit experience is preferred
- Experience with mentorship, coaching, talent development, or skilled programs
- Strong interpersonal, facilitation, and relationship-building skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to assess applications and make fair, objective decisions
- Understanding of the cannabis industry and its unique professional, regulatory, and cultural dynamics
- Commitment to equity, inclusion, and ethical leadership

Time CommitmentThis is a volunteer role requiring participation in regular committee meetings, application review cycles, mentor-mentee matching periods, and periodic program evaluation throughout the year.

Estimated commitment: 3–6 hours per month, depending on programming schedule.
