HAIRSTYLIST / BARBER
House of Handsome - Spruce Grove, AB

ABOUT US
House of Handsome is a growing Alberta barbershop group built on
precision cutting, a strong client experience, and a team that takes
the craft seriously. Our Spruce Grove location is expanding its
service menu, and we are looking for a stylist who is equally
comfortable behind a barber chair and on the colour floor.

THE ROLE
This is a dual-skill position. You will deliver classic barbering
services alongside advanced chemical and colour work, serving a
client base that spans traditional cuts through to full colour
transformations.

WHAT YOU WILL DO
- Perform perms, highlights, balayage, full colour, and colour
correction
- Deliver barbering services including scissor cuts, fades, tapers,
beard shaping, and straight razor work
- Consult with clients on colour suitability, maintenance, and
aftercare, including patch testing where required
- Maintain accurate service and formulation notes in [Phorest]
- Recommend retail products and support in-shop promotions
- Keep station, tools, and colour bar clean, stocked, and compliant
with Alberta Health Services sanitation standards
- Contribute content for social media where comfortable, including
before and after work

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
- Alberta journeyperson hairstylist certificate, or eligibility to
challenge the exam [verify current requirement]




- Demonstrated experience in perms, highlights, and colour work
- Barbering experience with clipper and fade proficiency
- A portfolio of recent colour and cutting work
- Strong consultation skills and a client-first approach
- Reliable availability including [evenings and Saturdays]
- Ability to build and retain a personal client base

NICE TO HAVE
- Existing clientele in the Spruce Grove, Stony Plain, or west
Edmonton area
- Experience with Phorest or a comparable booking system
- Advanced colour certification or brand education
