Embark on your geotechnical career with CST Coal as an Engineer In Training focused on mining operations. Ensure safety by managing pit wall and waste rock dump hazards effectively.
This role reports to the Superintendent of Geotechnical Engineering and Geology. As a key player, you will conduct regular geotechnical field inspections, develop slope monitoring strategies, and carry out detailed geotechnical analyses and reporting.
External regulatory compliance through inspection reporting is also essential, alongside participant involvement in geotechnical drilling campaigns.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct regular field geotechnical inspections for safety
- Develop slope monitoring strategies and installations
- Perform geotechnical analysis and report on findings
- Compile monthly and quarterly geotechnical inspection reports
- Oversee geotechnical drilling campaigns for data collection
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Geological or Mining Engineering
- Experience in open pit mining operations is preferred
- Familiarity with slope monitoring systems and Roc Science software
- Robust safety commitment and teamwork abilities
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
