Seed Processing Assistants are involved in all facets of seed processing within our location. Indoor seed processing and packaging activities may include: Cleaning processing equipment, receiving, sorting, counting, labeling, and packaging. Outdoor activities may include the maintenance of site and site equipment.
May be responsible for preventive maintenance of equipment in assigned areas. Activities will require bending and lifting, long periods of sitting or standing and the ability to lift up to 50lbs. High school diploma or equivalent (GED) and / or one year of related experience may be required.
Must be able to understand verbal and written task and safety instructions delivered in English, and to perform assigned tasks accurately. Must be able to adhere to all Monsanto SOPs and to support all site safety requirements. Basic mechanical ability / understanding of equipment maintenance (able to operate and trouble shoot equipment) may be required.
Possibility of seasonal shift work.

- Overview of the role: During the winter months they will work in either the commercial or foundation plant – assisting with cleaning, shipping and packaging seed.
- Work workplace/clothing: It will vary with the seasons, but long pants, closed toed shoes are certainly a standard across all functions.
- A degree is preferable but not a necessity.
- 40 hours per week, opportunity for OT.
- Driving: Winter months they will commute to the site on their own.
- Very little to no travel.
- Mix of indoor and outdoor work depending on the season.
- All PPE will be provided.
- Possibility of extension based on business needs.
•There will always be something to do, so in inclement weather they will continue to work at the site.
- Will conduct interviews.
- Lots of training, 1-2 days initially and then lots of on the job training as we progress.
