Matrix HR is seeking motivated Carpenter Apprentices to join a high-performing concrete and formwork crew for a major structural and civil concrete project in Fort Saskatchewan, Alberta. This is an excellent opportunity to work on a production-driven site where you can learn from experienced tradespeople and contribute to a high-output environment. We are looking for apprentices who are eager to work hard, develop their skills, and prioritize quality and safety.
Compensation & Benefits
- 4th Year: $44.45 per hour
- 3rd Year: $39.51 per hour
- 2nd Year: $34.57 per hour
- Overtime: 1.5x after 40 hours per week (Total of 48 hours per week with 8 hours of overtime).
- Shift Schedule: Monday to Thursday (6:00 AM to 4:30 PM) and Friday (6:00 AM to 2:00 PM).

Key Responsibilities
- Assist in executing various concrete formwork tasks safely and efficiently, including the construction of pile caps, pedestals, and concrete trenching systems.
- Support the use of advanced forming systems such as PERI and DOKA, as well as conventional wood forming.
- Learn to read and interpret basic drawings, blueprints, and specifications under the guidance of journeypersons and forepersons.
- Maintain high productivity and quality standards in all aspects of formwork and concrete placement.
- Collaborate effectively with the crew to ensure project timelines and objectives are met.
- Adhere strictly to all site safety regulations and procedures.
Qualifications
- Proof of Apprenticeship level
- Experience: Previous experience in concrete formwork is considered a solid asset.
- Advanced Systems: Familiarity with PERI and/or DOKA systems is a plus.
- Transportation: This is a drive-to-site location in Fort Saskatchewan. There is no busing provided, so reliable personal transportation is required.
- Environment: Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, production-oriented construction environment.
- Soft Skills: Reliable, safety-focused, and a strong team player with a solid work ethic and a desire to learn.
