Duties
- Spread and level asphalt material using rakes to achieve a smooth, even surface according to project specifications
- Assist with the operation of heavy equipment such as skid steers, loaders, or pavers to support paving processes
- Prepare the work area by cleaning and setting up tools and materials before paving begins
- Collaborate closely with the paving crew to ensure consistent application and proper compaction of asphalt
- Follow safety protocols diligently to maintain a secure work environment for all team members
- Conduct routine inspections of equipment and tools,
reporting any maintenance needs or safety hazards
- Support the team in maintaining project timelines by efficiently completing assigned tasks
Skills
- Experience operating heavy construction equipment such as loaders, skid steers, or pavers is highly desirable
- Strong knowledge of paving techniques and asphalt application processes
- Construction experience with a focus on outdoor infrastructure projects
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions while maintaining safety standards
