Client seeking an experienced Automated Application Tester to support the redevelopment of the provincial K-12 curriculum platform, LearnAlberta.ca. The selected consultant will work within agile cloud software development teams to provide automated testing, UI/API validation, regression testing, accessibility testing, and quality assurance support for enterprise educational applications.

The consultant will collaborate with developers, analysts, and stakeholders to ensure software quality standards, platform stability, and successful deployment of web and cloud-based applications.

The consultant will be responsible for:

- Automated application testing for LearnAlberta.ca and related systems

- UI and API testing in agile environments

- Regression, integration, system, and UAT testing

- Automated test script development and maintenance

- Cross-browser and mobile testing

- Accessibility testing (WCAG compliance preferred)

- Bug tracking, reporting, and defect management

- Test case and test plan creation

- Validation of business requirements and user stories

- Managing test data and testing metrics

- Coordinating UAT execution with stakeholders

- Supporting cloud-based and web-based application testing

- Working with AI-assisted testing tools such as BrowserStack or equivalent

Required Skills & Experience

Mandatory Requirements





- Minimum 5 years of experience in web-based application testing within the last 7 years

- Minimum 1 year of experience in automated UI and API testing

- Experience working in Agile software development environments

- Experience with system, integration, regression, and UAT testing

- Experience creating and executing automated test cases

- Strong defect tracking and reporting experience

- Experience testing cloud-based and web applications

Preferred / Highly Desired Skills

- BrowserStack or equivalent AI-assisted testing tools

- Accessibility testing experience (WCAG 2.0 compliance)

- Cross-platform browser/mobile testing

- Educational platform testing experience

- Responsive design testing

- Experience with enterprise-scale applications

- Experience with bug lifecycle management

- Strong communication and stakeholder coordination skills

Work Environment

- Work from home permitted

- Occasional onsite meetings/work in Edmonton, Alberta

- Minimum 7 hours per Business Day

- Alberta business hours (Monday–Friday)
