Fluent Mandarin and English Required THE FISH MAN is hiring an experienced Food Runner / Server Assistant for our busy seafood restaurant in Richmond, BC.
This is not an entry-level position. We are looking for someone with restaurant experience who works quickly, stays organized and takes responsibility during busy service.
Compensation
- Average gratuities: approximately $15–$20 per hour
- Actual gratuities vary depending on restaurant sales and individual shifts
Responsibilities:
- Deliver dishes quickly and accurately to the correct tables
- Clearly announce dishes when serving guests
- Clear, clean and reset tables efficiently
- Support Servers throughout the dining service
- Coordinate with the kitchen and front-of-house teams
- Maintain clean service stations and dining areas
- Complete assigned opening and closing duties
Requirements:
- Fluent spoken Mandarin is required for daily team communication
- Valuable English communication skills are required for guest service
- Minimum one year of experience in a busy restaurant environment
- Strong sense of urgency and attention to detail
- Able to identify table numbers and dishes accurately
- Reliable, punctual and able to maintain a consistent schedule
- Evening and weekend availability
- Legally entitled to work in Canada
