Buyer / Expeditor

Location: Montreal, QC / Côte-de-Liesse (St-Laurent) (Hybrid)

Contract

Bilingualism is mandatory.

The Buyer/Expeditor is responsible for the day-to-day execution of purchase orders and supplier follow-up activities to ensure material availability and uninterrupted supply to operations. The role focuses on transactional excellence, expediting, order confirmation, delivery monitoring, and ERP data accuracy.

Key Responsibilities

- Create and release purchase orders.
- Obtain supplier acknowledgements and commitment dates.
- Maintain current expediting information.
- Follow up on late deliveries and past-due orders.
- Update ERP data including dates, quantities, pricing, and supplier commitments.
- Resolve receiving and invoice discrepancies.
- Escalate material shortages and supplier issues.
- Support RFQ activities and sourcing requests.
- Maintain compliance with approved suppliers, contracts, and pricing.

Education

- High School Diploma required.
- DEC / Diploma in Supply Chain, Procurement, Business Administration, Logistics, Operations Management,



or a related field preferred.
- APICS/ASCM, PMAC, or equivalent procurement certification considered an asset.

Experience

- 2 years of purchasing, logistics, inventory management, customer service, manufacturing, or supply chain experience.

- Buyer/expeditor is first level but must be very diligent, work on their feet.
- Not the most structured environment, it is quite entrepreneurial in style (work within the zoo type), not too much handholding.
- Must be very resourceful across all levels
- Hardware equipment
- Sheet metal & machinery knowledge would be an asset
