About the Position

We are seeking a reliable, hardworking, and team-oriented Chef Assistant to join our permanent camp operation outside Fort McMurray.

The camp has 34 rooms and approximately 20–25 people on site at a time. Working alongside the Camp Chef, you will play an important role in preparing meals, keeping the kitchen organized, and ensuring the camp kitchen operates efficiently.

This is a permanent full-time position on a 2 weeks in / 2 weeks out rotation, with accommodation provided while on site.

Responsibilities

- Assist the Camp Chef with daily meal preparation
- Prepare vegetables, salads, sandwiches, baking, and other food items as required
- Assist with breakfast, lunch, and dinner service
- Help with food receiving, storage, inventory, and organization
- Maintain a clean and organized kitchen and food preparation areas
- Wash dishes and kitchen equipment as required
- Clean and sanitize kitchen surfaces, appliances, and equipment
- Assist with garbage removal and general kitchen housekeeping
- Follow food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety procedures
- Assist the Chef with maintaining appropriate food supplies
- Step in and support other camp duties when required
- Work as part of a small,



professional camp team

Qualifications
- Previous kitchen, catering, camp, restaurant, or food-service experience preferred
- Food Safety certification is an asset
- Strong work ethic and positive attitude
- Reliable and able to work independently
- Comfortable working in a remote/camp environment
- Positive organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work efficiently as part of a team
- Ability to work a 2 weeks in / 2 weeks out rotation
- Previous camp or remote-site experience is an asset
