Job Descriptions:

The Opportunity:

- Work in close collaboration with CPP Investments' trading professionals, operations and technology teams to design and build solutions enabling trade activities across a number of asset classes including futures, equities, fixed income, derivatives, OTC and FX.
- Collaborate with team members to architect, design and develop robust software solutions — spanning server-side enterprise systems, event-driven microservices, APIs and purpose-built GUIs — that are scalable, maintainable, resilient and observable, tailored to the specific and evolving needs of our business partners.
- Create solutions aligned with the long-term architecture and technology strategy using Amazon Web Services (AWS), ensuring cloud-native design principles are applied across all development.
- Maintain and improve existing applications to support trading functions, treating code quality and system health as a continuous engineering responsibility, not an afterthought.
- Own quality end-to-end — designing thorough unit, integration and regression test strategies that reflect the standards expected of mission-critical financial systems.
- Take end-to-end ownership of deliverables — defining scope, driving execution and proactively managing risks to ensure predictable, high-quality outcomes.
- Provide timely and reliable support L1 support to business partners, recognizing that the systems you build and maintain are critical to live trading operations where delays have real consequences.
- Guide and mentor other engineers.
- Bring curiosity and adaptability to the role — as our technology mandate grows, so will the scope of problems you'll be asked to solve, including ones that don't yet have a defined playbook.
- Provide knowledge transfer to team members and support staff through application demos, walkthroughs and documentation.

Qualifications:





If you possess the following, we'd like to hear from you:

- University degree in Engineering or Computer Science preferred.
- 10+ years of overall software engineering experience, with a strong background in building and maintaining enterprise-level applications.
- Must-have experience in capital markets with a sound understanding of trading workflows and trade lifecycle across asset classes including equities, fixed income, derivatives, OTC and FX.
- Strong working experience in C++ with the ability to independently debug complex issues with precision.
- Proficiency in Python with hands-on experience applying it in a financial or capital markets context.
- Solid foundational knowledge of SQL is a must-have — candidates should be comfortable with core concepts including joins,

aggregations, indexing and query optimization.

- Demonstrated experience designing and architecting applications at a Lead level — making sound technical decisions around system design, data flow and component interaction that reflect the complexity and scale of enterprise financial systems.
- Knowledge of software development best practices and patterns including clean code principles, design patterns and event-driven architecture.
- Experience in AWS Cloud is a must.
- Must-have experience with DevOps practices and tooling including CI/CD pipelines, containerization (Docker/Kubernetes),

infrastructure as code and automated deployment strategies.

- Experience in FIX protocol is strongly preferred and will be a significant advantage given the nature of trading systems built within the team.
- Familiarity with AI tools and large language models (LLMs) is a plus.
