Summary: The Child Youth Support Needs (CYSN) Worker reports directly to the KFS Team Leader and is part of an interdisciplinary team in the northern St’át’imc Territory. The CYSN program works with children/youth and their families who have a developmental disability, or have a diagnosis of autism spectrum disorder, or are eligible for the At-Home Program to promote age-appropriate skills development.
Qualifications & Experience:
Strong interpersonal, conflict resolution and communication skills.
Experience in coaching and instructing clients with disabilities.
Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.
Knowledge of community resources available to clients and their families and how to access them.
Knowledge and understanding of St’át’imc culture.
Must be willing to submit to and explicit a Vulnerable Sector Criminal Record Check.
Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
Duties & Responsibilities
Ability to use tact and good judgment in dealing with sensitive and complex issues.
Provide direct goal-oriented assistance to a child/youth and their family based on the service plan developed with the family and the CYSN Social Worker.
Work collaboratively with the family to support its development of child management strategies, parenting skills, or other relevant skills.
Provide group and individual services.
Document each client-family’s progress toward the goals described in the service plan.
Compensation: $23.00 - $25.00 per hour.
