- Advance clinical excellence and workforce capability across an assigned portfolio of long-term care homes - Deliver standardized onboarding, transition to practice, and ongoing clinical skills education - Facilitate skills labs, simulation, microlearning, bedside coaching, and virtual education - Assess and validate clinical competencies through knowledge assessments, return demonstrations, and clinical judgment activities - Develop and adapt lesson plans, facilitator guides, learning resources, and competency assessment tools - Translate legislation, clinical policies, procedures, and best practices into practical clinical skills education - Partner with home and regional leaders to identify practice gaps, learning needs, and education priorities - Provide coaching, mentorship, and follow-up support - Use learning technologies, virtual platforms, and the learning management system - Monitor participation, competency completion, learner feedback, and outcomes - Contribute to quality improvement, resident safety, and clinical practice-change initiatives - Build collaborative relationships across multiple homes and elevate significant education or practice concerns Requirements - Registered Nurse (RN) or Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) in good standing with the applicable provincial regulatory college - Minimum 3–5 years of clinical nursing experience, preferably in long-term care, geriatrics, or a related setting - Current BCLS/CPR certification - Experience in clinical education delivery, adult learning,
and competency development - Demonstrated experience facilitating group education and applying adult learning principles - Knowledge of long-term care standards and infection prevention practices - Ability to work independently, manage competing priorities, and adapt to the needs of multiple homes - Strong communication and interpersonal skills - Familiarity with quality improvement and resident safety principles - Proficiency with Microsoft Office, virtual learning, and LMS platforms - Ability to travel regularly across multiple sites - Graduate education in Nursing, Education, Leadership, or an adult education credential is an asset Core Competencies Demonstrates expertise in clinical education delivery, adult learning principles, and competency development while fostering team-oriented relationships across long-term care settings.
