Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced CMDB Consultant to support the design, implementation, governance, and optimization of the Configuration Management Database (CMDB) ecosystem within the enterprise IT Service Management (ITSM) environment. The ideal candidate will possess robust expertise in CMDB architecture, ServiceNow CMDB, ITIL processes, and data governance practices to ensure accurate and reliable configuration data across the organization.

The consultant will collaborate with infrastructure, application, security, cloud, and operations teams to enhance configuration management processes, improve asset visibility, and support operational excellence initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

CMDB Strategy & Governance

- Design, implement, and maintain CMDB governance frameworks, policies, standards, and procedures.
- Establish configuration item (CI) lifecycle management processes and data quality standards.
- Define and maintain CI relationships, dependencies, and service mapping models.
- Ensure CMDB compliance with ITIL best practices and organizational governance requirements.

ServiceNow CMDB Administration & Enhancement

- Configure and optimize ServiceNow CMDB modules, Discovery, Service Mapping, and integrations.
- Support CMDB health initiatives including completeness, correctness, and compliance metrics.
- Develop and maintain automated discovery and reconciliation rules.
- Identify and resolve duplicate, stale, or inaccurate CI records.

Integration & Data Management

- Integrate CMDB with enterprise monitoring,



cloud, infrastructure, and asset management tools.
- Work with technical teams to onboard new data sources into the CMDB.
- Develop data transformation and reconciliation strategies for multiple source systems.
- Ensure data consistency across ITSM, asset management, and operational platforms.

Process Improvement & Reporting

- Analyze current CMDB processes and recommend enhancements.
- Develop dashboards, KPIs, and reporting metrics related to CMDB health and operational efficiency.
- Conduct audits and assessments to identify data quality gaps and remediation opportunities.
- Support change, incident, problem, and asset management processes through accurate configuration data.

Stakeholder Collaboration

- Partner with enterprise architecture, infrastructure, cybersecurity, and operations teams.
- Provide guidance and training to stakeholders on CMDB best practices.
- Support project teams during onboarding of applications, services, and infrastructure into CMDB.

Required Qualifications

- Bachelor￯﾿ᆵ￯ᄒ﾿£トチ￯﾿ᆵ£トメ ̄ツ﾿￯﾿ᆵ£トメ ̄テᆱs degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.




- 5+ years of experience in CMDB administration and ITSM environments.
- Strong hands-on experience with ServiceNow CMDB and Discovery.
- Deep understanding of ITIL Framework, especially Configuration Management.
- Experience with CI class models, reconciliation rules, and service mapping.
- Knowledge of cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Experience integrating CMDB with enterprise tools and monitoring solutions.
- Strong SQL, scripting, or automation knowledge (PowerShell, JavaScript, Python preferred).
- Excellent analytical, documentation, and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

- ServiceNow Certified System Administrator (CSA).
- ServiceNow Certified Implementation Specialist ￯﾿ᆵ￯ᄒ﾿£トチ￯﾿ᆵ£トメ ̄ツ﾿￯﾿ᆵ£トメ ̄テᄁ CMDB.
- ITIL Foundation or ITIL Intermediate certification.
- Experience in banking or financial services environments.
- Familiarity with regulatory and compliance requirements within financial institutions.
