Refrigeration Design Engineer / Technologist

Location: Brantford, ON

Workplace: In office

Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM

About The Role We are seeking a Refrigeration Design Engineer / Technologist responsible for engineering and designing customer-specific refrigeration systems and ensuring their efficiency through capacity calculations, component selection, and technical design.

The successful candidate will work closely with engineering, production, industrial engineering, and laboratory teams. The ideal candidate will have a strong refrigeration background, experience with CAD software, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Experience with commercial or supermarket-type refrigeration equipment is considered an asset.

Key Responsibilities

- Review, interpret, and respond to customer and sales-related product inquiries.
- Design refrigeration systems and select appropriate equipment based on project requirements and industry standards.
- Perform capacity calculations and component selection.
- Create and modify 2D and 3D designs, wiring diagrams, and assembly drawings.
- Provide technical support and troubleshooting assistance for field-related issues.
- Prepare technical reports, documentation, and engineering information.




- Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, production, sales, contractors, and customers.
- Participate in product and engineering meetings.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives and other projects as required.

Qualifications & Skills

- Mechanical Engineering degree, diploma, or equivalent technical education.
- Minimum 3+ years of refrigeration or related industry experience.
- Strong knowledge of refrigeration systems, components, and applications.
- Experience using 2D and 3D CAD software such as AutoCAD or Solid Edge.
- Commercial refrigeration experience is an asset.
- Supermarket refrigeration equipment experience is an asset.
- Strong computer skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational abilities.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
