SUMMARY OF THE POSITION
Person who does the identification and analysis of the needs of the population with concerned groups. She/he designs, coordinates and updates community organization programs to meet the needs of the community and promote its development. She/he acts as a resource person for the groups.
REQUIREMENTS
Education
- Bachelor degree in human or social sciences such as social work, psychoeducation or psychology.
Experience
- Three (3) years of experience mainly in group monitoring and in project coordination achieved in partnership or in community organization;
- Work experience with community concertation tables.
Please note that applicants who do not meet the above-mentioned requirements may be considered for this position if they possess the following alternative profile: College Diploma in a related field of studies cumulated with five (5) years of appropriate work experience.
Knowledge and Abilities
- Knowledge of community-based services related to families and their children living in a vulnerable context;
- Knowledge of social/health issues and impacts of historic events in Eeyou Istchee;
- Knowledge of group care;
- Understanding of families and human relations;
- Knowledge of Eenou/Eeyou Pimaatsiiun healing practices and paradigms is an asset;
- Demonstrated teamwork and leadership skills;
- Excellent critical thinking, synthesis, organizational and decision-making skills;
- Excellent interpersonal and listening communication skills;
- Autonomous, versatile and flexible discrete and empathetic;
- Oral, written and interpersonal communication and listening skills;
- Sense of creativity, solution-oriented and dynamism.
Language
- Fluent in Cree and English;
- French is an asset.
