Whistler Sport Legacies (WSL) is a not-for-profit organization responsible for operating the Whistler Sliding Centre, Whistler Olympic Park and Whistler Athletes’ Centre. Our teams support sport, recreation, athlete development and guest experiences while continuing the legacy of the Vancouver 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games.

We are currently hiring a Coordinator, Payroll and Benefits to join our Finance team. This role is responsible for full-cycle payroll processing and benefits administration for regular and temporary colleagues across WSL, while providing accurate, timely and helpful support to employees, managers and supervisors.

From bi-weekly payroll and benefits administration to reconciliations, statutory reporting and Payworks support, this is a detail-focused role at the heart of our organization. Job Overview

Position: Coordinator, Payroll and Benefits

Department: Finance

Schedule: Full-Time (32–40 hours per week)

Location: Whistler, BC

Salary: $55,000–$65,000 annually, based on experience

Start Date: As soon as possible

What You’ll Do

- Process bi-weekly payroll accurately and on time in accordance with applicable employment standards and legislative requirements.
- Maintain accurate colleague information within Payworks, including onboarding, offboarding, time and attendance, and payroll records.
- Administer WSL’s group benefits and RRSP programs.
- Prepare payroll and benefits journal entries and ensure accounting deadlines are met.
- Complete bi-weekly vacation and sick pay reconciliations.




- Coordinate statutory remittances and reporting, including WorkSafeBC requirements.
- Complete year-end payroll processes and prepare required employment and payroll documentation, including T4s and Records of Employment.
- Liaise with benefit providers and maintain accurate and current benefit plan information for regular and temporary colleagues.
- Complete monthly balance sheet reconciliations and journal entry adjustments as required.
- Provide payroll and benefits guidance and support to colleagues, managers and supervisors.
- Maintain payroll procedures and processing documentation.
- Prepare Payworks reports for managers and directors as required.
- Participate in colleague orientation and manager/supervisor training by providing payroll and benefits information.
- Prepare confirmation of employment documentation.
- Build positive relationships with internal teams, benefit providers and partner organizations.
- Identify opportunities to improve payroll, benefits and administrative processes.
- Maintain a high level of confidentiality when handling payroll, employment and personal information.
- Support the Finance team and other WSL departments with additional projects and priorities as required.

What You Bring

- Previous experience with full-cycle payroll processing and benefits administration.




- Strong knowledge of the BC Employment Standards Act and relevant payroll, employment and WorkSafeBC requirements.
- Payroll certification or related payroll education is preferred.
- Introductory financial accounting education or experience is an asset.
- Experience using Payworks or a similar payroll and time-and-attendance system is an asset.
- Experience supporting or delivering payroll and advantages training is an asset.
- Solid Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel, Word and Outlook.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Strong numerical, analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proven ability to handle confidential and sensitive information appropriately.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment.
- A self-motivated, proactive approach and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
- A service-focused approach when supporting colleagues, managers and external partners.
- A valid BC Class 5 Driver’s Licence is required.
