Work Model: Remote / Flexible (As-needed basis / Part-time)
Location: Canada (Preference for candidates able to work within Canadian data compliance requirements)
Data Solutions Consultant to provide on-demand expertise across data architecture, integration, and data quality initiatives. This role will focus on making enterprise data structured, connected, and ready for analytics and AI use cases, supporting multiple business units and evolving priorities.
Key Responsibilities
Data Architecture & Modelling
- Design conceptual, logical, and physical data models
- Normalize and optimize existing data structures
- Align data models with business and regulatory requirements
Data Integration & Systems
- Develop and support ETL/ELT pipelines and API integrations
- Enable system-to-system data connectivity
- Support data virtualization and interoperability initiatives
Data Flow & Mapping
- Document end-to-end data flows across systems
- Identify upstream/downstream dependencies
- Improve data lineage and traceability
Data Quality & Governance
- Identify root causes of data quality issues
- Define data quality rules, metrics, and monitoring frameworks
- Support enterprise data governance initiatives
Data Enablement for Analytics & AI
- Prepare and structure datasets for reporting and AI
- Identify data readiness gaps
- Support advanced analytics initiatives
Deliverables
- Regular status reports (as defined by BCER)
- Monthly invoices with detailed hours worked
Work Model & Engagement
- Flexible, remote engagement
- Work assigned on an as-needed basis
- Planning cycles typically 2–4 weeks in advance
Required Qualifications
- Proven experience in
- Data Architecture & Data Modelling
- Data Integration (ETL, APIs, system integration)
- Data Quality & Governance
- Strong hands-on experience with:
- Relational Databases (RDBMS)
- Advanced SQL, query optimization, and performance tuning
- Experience delivering end-to-end data solutions
- Strong communication skills to explain technical concepts to stakeholders
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Oracle databases (PL/SQL, performance tuning)
- Knowledge of
- Data virtualization tools
- Version control (Git-based systems)
- Certifications such as
- TOGAF
- CDMP
- Experience supporting AI/Analytics data pipelines
